WEB EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers are heading to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2006, thanks to a gritty 2-1 victory over the Dallas Stars in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final.

Connor McDavid, the league's reigning MVP, led the way for the Oilers with a goal and an assist. Stuart Skinner, making his third start of the series, made 34 saves to earn the win.

Evan Rodrigues scored the lone goal for the Stars, who fell just short of reaching the Final for the second time in three years.

The Oilers will now face either the Colorado Avalanche or the New York Rangers in the Stanley Cup Final, which begins on Wednesday, June 15.
